New features are coming to WhatsApp Group video calls, giving the host more control over the overall experience. During a WhatsApp call, the host can now mute a person or message them individually.
The feature is rolling out gradually for Android and iOS devices, so it might take a few days before you start seeing them. Will Cathcart, Head of WhatsApp, shared the update on Thursday, explaining the new tools added by the messaging platform. During meetings, people sometimes forget to mute the call themselves, causing disturbances.
You can now avoid such a problem by muting that individual yourself. Furthermore, WhatsApp will now alert everyone when a new person joins a group video call, letting them know their presence. Due to the support for 32 people on a group call, it was imperative that WhatsApp added these new tools as soon as possible.
