New marketing tools are integrated into Gmail by Google Workspace

Published on Aug 03, 2022

Users can now create announcements and newsletters in Gmail and send professional-looking messages to large audiences quickly and easily with the updated features.

This feature lets users customise their emails with colour schemes, logos, images, footer text, and links using predefined templates containing images, text elements, and buttons.

With this feature, you do not have to BCC all recipients when sending mass emails. Unsubscribe links are included by default in multi-send emails, so anyone who unsubscribes can automatically be excluded from future mailings.

In Gmail, you can use multi-send mode to create email campaigns, newsletters, and announcements. Up to 1,500 recipients can be specified in the “To” field. If you are sending multiple messages at once, you can list a maximum of one recipient to the “Cc” or “Bcc” field. Each outgoing email will include any recipient added to the “Cc” or “Bcc” field.

You can add multiple recipients to your email by typing or pasting them in or using a contact list. The multi-send feature emails each contact individually without letting them know who else you emailed.

A new admin setting will allow users to control whether the new layout and multi-send features are enabled or disabled. Currently, these features are only available for Gmail on the web.

Layout is enabled by default and at the domain level. Domains, organizational units, and groups can have layouts turned on or off.

Google Workspace Enterprise Starter and above, and Google Workspace for Education customers cannot use Multi-Send. Google Workspace Business and non-profit customers have access to this feature by default. All Google Workspace editions allow administrators to turn multi-send on for external recipients at the organizational unit or group level.
