Published on Jun 15, 2022
This second major update to Windows 11 is being called ‘Sun Valley 3’ internally, but it has a strong focus on touch improvements for tablet devices. Microsoft is expected to release it at the end of 2023.
Window Latest( opens in a new tab) reports that 23H2 will build on Sun Valley 2, offering improvements to Windows 11’s current apps, as well as possibly adding a tablet mode similar to Windows 10.
Sun Valley 2 is expected to be released in the second half of 2022, with bug fixes being pushed out via the Insider Builds, which will enable users to try out the major update before it’s available to everyone.
With Microsoft switching to an annual feature release, much like Apple, it would be beneficial to announce when certain features will arrive rather than simply showcase them.
