The purpose of software testing is to identify and diagnose defects in software programs. Software testers discover these defects while testing a program to detect bugs and other problems, which are referred to as bugs or test failures. Additionally, software testing ensures that the final product is of high quality, performs as expected, and meets the needs of users or customers.

The purpose of testing is clearly to identify bugs, but what is a test case? Let’s dig deeper… A test case describes how you will test your software for errors or bugs. The document explains who should use the program and how they will do so in order to identify any issues with it. Although test cases can be created on their own, they are most useful when they are combined with another set of documents called test plans.
